UMNO has dropped incumbent Bayan Lepas assemblyman Nordin Ahmad and replaced him with Balik Pulau Umno committee member Rusli Hashim.

Rusli, 58, an Education Department officer, is one of the three new faces who will be contesting.

The other two candidates are Nor Hafizah Othman who will contest in Permatang Berangan replacing Omar Hamid and Zamri Che Ros who takes over from Datuk Jahara Hamid in Telok Ayer Tawar.

Nor Hafizah, 41, a lawyer, is Tasek Gelugor Umno committee member since 2013 and also the division’s Wanita Umno assistant secretary.

Zamri, 48, a businessman, has been the Tasek Gelugor Umno secretary for the past 14 years.

Last year, Jahara announced that she would not be contesting after serving the constituency for five terms.
