PRESSTO Asia initiated its first corporate social responsibility (CSR) campaign, in April, by encouraging the donation of pre-loved soft toys to be cleaned, then handed over to Kiwanis Klang Down Syndrome Foundation.
The campaign themed “Donate your pre-loved soft toys for a good cause” is a four-step procedure where the public is encouraged to – get their soft toys, find the nearest Pressto shop, drop it off there and keep themselves updated through the official Facebook page.
Pressto Asia chief executive officer Phyllis Lai said the idea of launching the programme happened when she met Kiwanis Klang president Amanda Russell at an event.
“Amanda and I discussed the collaboration and it comes from our love for children,” she said.
Russell said, “All children are special, but Down syndrome children are extra special.”
The six-month programme aims to build awareness on parenting where parents become their children’s role model in the act of giving.
By fostering this simple act of sharing, children will become accustomed to giving.
“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give,” said Shine From Within chief executive officer and founder June Yap.
