COMING home to a fun and safe environment in a united neighbourhood is what most people want, and this is the aim of the Ambang Botanic Residents Association (RA) in Klang.
Started in 2006, the RA with about 700 members is always coming up with colourful social activities to unite all residents.
With a set-up of only nine committee members, the RA always has its hands full, catering to 822 households in the neighbourhood.
From security to cleanliness and even pest control and fogging, the RA is determined to ensure that all residents of Ambang Botanic enjoy a good quality of life.
The RA also handles maintenance of the neighbourhood park and clubhouse.
“We always have lots to do and for events, we have a separate committee with about 12 to 13 members to ensure that all activities planned throughout the year go smoothly,” said RA chairman Caleb Khoo.
Khoo, who has been leading the RA for three years, stressed on the importance of creating a happy environment where residents of all ages can feel comfortable and happy.
“The idea is simple; if the residents are happy, they will not want to move out.
“So if we have more people wanting to move in because of the environment we have created, then our property prices will increase as well,” he jokingly added.
Khoo, who has been living in the neighbourhood for seven years, said the RA had even organised a fun day trip to Ipoh for residents.
Other activities that have been held include annual dinners, Halloween night, Lantern Festival and Family Day.
