Two new diplomas for school-leavers in Johor

Hor sharing details of the two new programmes.

JOHOR BARU: Sunway College Johor Baru has introduced the Diploma in International Business and Diploma in Marketing for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) school-leavers.

Principal Hor Poh Choo said Iskandar Malaysia has attracted domestic and foreign investors to invest in the country’s first economic growth corridor since its inception on Nov 4, 2006.

“The influx of domestic and foreign investors had created many job opportunities and demand for graduates with business study-related qualifications,” she said.

Hor said the Diploma International Business covered topics such as international business environment, challenges in global economic growth and the ever-changing economic landscape.

She added that students would be taught international trade in currency exchange, shipping, legal requirements and different ways of doing businesses in different countries.

Hor said the marketing programme focused on consumer behaviour, brand management, service marketing, customer relationships, digital and international marketing.

“Every industry requires sales and marketing specialists to plan and execute strategies to market their products and services,” she said.

Last year, the college also launched its Diploma in Events Management programme to produce graduates engaging in specialised events and thematic projects such as birthday parties, wedding, conferences, exhibitions, conventions, concerts and event launches.
