Worrying trend in underaged ‘traditional’ marriages

MIRI: There have been cases of schoolgirls — some as young as 14 — coaxed by much older men into getting married via ‘traditional’ kampung marriages without going through the marriage registry of the National Registration Department.

These men usually would arrange these marriages with these schoolgirls by persuading the parents of these girls using dowry payments.
