YONG PENG: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar will be in Yong Peng and Ayer Hitam on April 3 to visit Yong Peng’s Klinik Kesihatan, said Ayer Hitam MP Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

Speaking after a tea session with Yong Peng residents in Jalan Templer, Wee, who is also Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, said Sultan Ibrahim would also visit Ayer Hitam’s former police station.

“Sultan Ibrahim has asked for the police building to be preserved, and we are working to turn the area into a square, where we have received an allocation of RM2.5mil,” said Dr Wee, who is also MCA deputy president.

On another matter, Wee said he was unfazed by negative comments online regarding photos of him praying with joss sticks at the town’s Tian Pao Kong temple.

“It is very petty, but it doesn’t affect me,” he said, adding that it was disturbing when netizens attacked politicians and their family members.

Separately, Dr Wee said education should not be politicised and urged teachers to refrain from promoting their political views to students.
