SOME 20 artists and practitioners of traditional arts were exposed to interactive demonstrations on marketing tools, techniques, rebranding and product sustainability during a workshop at Bayview George Town Hotel in Penang.
Pulau Betong assemblyman Datuk Dr Muhammad Farid Saad said the objective of the three-day workshop was to prepare the participants with the necessary skills to survive the modern cultural market.
“It’s also a good move to educate them on how to keep the traditional arts alive,” he said.
Dr Muhammad Farid later gave out certificates to the participants of the Innovative Entrepreneurs of Cultural Arts Products 2018 Workshop.
The workshop was a joint collaboration between the National Department for Culture and Arts and Majlis Amanah Rakyat.
It was conducted by MARA consultant Akhmad Aznan Abdul Majid and Penang House of Music founder Paul Charles Augustin.
