Taman Malim Nawar residents grateful for newly tarred roads

Chai (second from left) and other residents are pleased that their complaints were addressed.

Residents living in Taman Malim Nawar, Kampar, are pleased that repair works on three major roads in the area have been completed.

Kampar councillor Chai Juen Choong said the repair works on Jalan Bunga Seri Pagi, Jalan Bunga Mawar and Jalan Bunga Raya were completed recently.

“The roads were in bad shape with many potholes that posed a danger to motorists.

“Although resurfacing works were done, it only involved parts of the roads that had gone bad.

“A thorough repair was needed for all the roads to provide better driving conditions for motorists once and for all,” he said.

Chai said the roads were now higher, making it less prone to flooding when it rains.

He noted that MCA Kampar division mooted the effort to repair the roads in August last year following residents’ complaints.

“There are more than 500 families living in the residential area that was developed over 20 years ago.

“The repairs will certainly benefit the community and also motorists using the roads here,” he said, adding that all repair costs was borne by the Kampar District Council.

Chai also noted that two other access roads in Kampung Baru Malim Nawar were also repaired during the same time.

“All five roads took two days to complete,” he added.
