PHC starts project to stabilise and rehabilitate barren slopes

STABILISATION works are being carried out on several exposed bare slopes along the 5.1km jeep track from Penang Botanic Gardens to the top of Penang Hill.

Penang Hill Corporation (PHC) general manager L.L. Cheok said tarpaulin sheets had been temporarily placed on the slopes to prevent further soil erosion during heavy rain.
