UNDERPRIVILEGED children from Ti-Ratana Welfare Society were given a chance to catch the world premiere of Lee Chong Wei: Rise Of The Legend, courtesy of businessman and philanthropist Datuk Yap Kim San.

Yap donated 50 tickets for the locally made movie depicting the life of badminton ace Datuk Lee Chong Wei.

On behalf of Yap, Rela honorary deputy commissioner Datuk Seri Michael Chong handed over the tickets to Ti-Ratana Welfare Society adviser and founder Venerable Datuk K. Sri Dhammaratana.

Chong said the children were overjoyed to be given the opportunity to watch the life of the local hero they idolised.

The movie premiered at Bukit Jalil National Stadium where a crowd of 20,000 watched it on a 40m x 17m LED screen.

More than 100 Rela officers assisted at the event.
