GET tips on growing your wealth. Learn to plant organic vegetables. Get fit and beautiful. A long list of attractions await visitors at The Star Women’s Fiesta, kicking off at The Starling Mall in Petaling Jaya tomorrow.
Three stages have been set up on the mall’s fifth floor, where MBO Cinemas is located, to accommodate different activities throughout the two-day event.
The Energised Stage is where live sessions of yoga, Zumba, ballet and martial arts will take place from 10am to 7pm.
Head to the WOW Stage where a medical expert will start day one with a talk on cancers that commonly afflict women, after which there will be make-up demos and fashion shows.
At 5pm, Canon EOS ambassador Bonnie Yap will share her journey in the male-dominated world of photography, while the second day will feature a showcase on nyonya jewellery and a feng shui presentation on how to enhance inner power.
The highlight of the fiesta takes place at MBO Cinemas where successful Malaysian women entrepreneurs will talk about their journeys and the fields they’ve chosen as well as give expert tips.
Among them are AirAsia Foundation executive director Yap Mun Ching, Tunku Mona Riza, director of Redha, a Malaysian film revolving around an autistic child, homegrown cosmetics brand So.Lek co-founder Dahlia Nadirah Juhari, financial planner Joyce Chuah who will be joined by Hong Leong Investment Bank group managing director and chief executive officer Lee Jim Leng, Mah Sing Group strategy and operations director Jane Leong, property valuer Vicky How and technopreneur Christy Ng in a panel discussion.
On Sunday, join the #HeForShe Couples session and discover how individuals in power relationships support each other. First in the line-up are comedian Harith Iskander and his wife, Dr Jezamine Lim who has a PhD in stem cells and tissue engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
The agony uncle of radio, Chan Fong of 988, will be making an appearance on Sunday to share his views on how women can achieve success. Chan is host of City Heartbeat, which offers listeners, who are 70% women, an outlet to talk about their personal problems on air.
The fiesta will also showcase unique products and services by more than 150 vendors.
Four thousand double win cards will be distributed at the information counter. A double win card entitles visitors to a mystery gift and a chance to win a lucky prize. All you have to do is get your card stamped by participating exhibitors to be in the running, at a redemption rate of RM30 per stamp. Purchases above RM200 will entitle the receipt holder to a manicure while those who spend above RM300 at the fiesta will be entitled to a makeover. Lucky draw prizes include five AirAsia Asean passes, 15 vouchers for Aery Jo makeup courses, Body Shop hampers, Parkson shopping vouchers and Braun Buffel products.
