THE official 15-day Chinese New Year may be over, but the mood is still high at Mah Sing Group’s festive open house at its Southville City Sales Gallery in Bangi, Selangor.
Homebuyers and those within the vicinity, both young and old, thronged the premises to be part of the festive celebration.
Excitement filled the air as the celebration kick-started with thunderous drum rolls followed by an impressive acrobatic lion dance performance and the lighting of firecrackers.
The festive atmosphere was further enlivened with eight lions roaming the sales gallery while the God of Prosperity spread well-wishes to the guests.
This year’s event was made more meaningful as the children from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Yesuvin Mahligai Selangor and representatives from Persatuan Kebajikan Suara Amal Selangor joined the symbolic yee sang tossing with the Mah Sing family.
Visitors were also treated to a spread of Chinese New Year delicacies accompanied by a mini concert featuring renditions of popular classic Chinese songs and English favourites presented by Astro Classic Melody singers Mun Wen, Caryn, Kelly and Astro Quest winner Vivian Lea.
The final song, the most popular New Year tune Gong Xi Gong Xi received loud cheers and applause as Mah Sing Group Bhd corporate admin vice-president Puan Sri Sulvian Leong joined others on stage.
Various activities include the 24 Seasons Drum performance, Chinese wushu performance, dragon dance as well as gold coin pouch-making, God of Fortune hand puppet-making and clay mandarin oranges pot-making for the young ones.
In the spirit of sharing joy, Mah Sing also presented RM5,000 to each of the non-profit organisations.
“We are thrilled to share a facet of the Chinese culture with everyone here today.
“Regardless of race and religion, everyone took part to indulge in various activities, making it a truly colourful affair,” said Mah Sing Group Bhd group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum.
Speaking about the progress of Southville City, Leong shared that the direct interchange from the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway was on track for completion by end of this month and would open soon.
“The completion will enable property buyers and residents to travel in and out of the township at significant ease as Kuala Lumpur is only 19km away.
“Also, the interchange will connect its surrounding educational, industrial and residential neighbourhood within Bangi and beyond too,” said Leong.
The township’s current residential phases include Aven Residence, Savanna Executive Suites and Cerrado Residential Suites.
Aven Residence, featuring two-and-a-half-storey and three-storey link homes with built-up areas of 2,988sq ft and 3,438sq ft, is completed with vacant possession and will be handed over this month onwards.
“A total 3,192 units of Savanna Executive Suites, with built-up areas from 956sq ft to 960sq ft, will be handed over from this month onwards.
“As part of our effort to reinvent affordability and enhance life, we are giving away 12-month complimentary Astro Value Pack subscription for the first 1,000 purchasers who move into these serviced apartments within six months from the VP date,” added Leong.
Interested buyers can also anticipate the launch of Sensa Residence within the first half of 2018. With a gross development of RM435mil, the serviced apartment units are priced from RM385,000, and come with built-up areas from 888sq ft.
Southville City is a mixed-development township which sprawls across 173.205ha of freehold land in Bangi.
“50% of Southville City is allocated to be developed into green space and there will be a 4.1ha Summit Park which works as a major green lung for the development of Southville City for residents to enjoy lush greeneries and parks including a 13km-bicycle track, 1.5km-nature walk and 1.3km riverside walk.
“The township’s plan will also see the construction of two primary schools and a secondary school along with a wellness centre and hotel,” said Mah Sing Group Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang.
Amenities nearby include KIP Mall Bangi, Mitsui Premium Outlet, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Bangi, University KL France Institute, Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor and KPJ Kajang while KL International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA 2 are just 25km and 28km away respectively.
“Now that Avens Residence is completed and Savanna Executive Suites will follow suit, The Southville City master plan is beginning to take shape in accordance with our vision.
“With the new interchange, travel time between the township and Kuala Lumpur will be further reduced, benefiting our residents and owners.
“Southville City is progressing well and we are looking forward to announcing more exciting news and updates in 2018,” said Leong.
