Guests and staff of Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, were treated to a thrilling lion dance performance to usher in good luck and chase away evil spirits this Chinese New Year.

This blessed tradition began with prayer offerings at the shrine located at the 15th floor of the hotel.

The lion dance troupe began making their way to various departments in the building to spread positivity and cheer to all.

It then headed to the lobby to give a grand performance.

Hotel guests, including foreign tourists, were in awe with the lion dance troupe.

They were also offered oranges by the lions as the main performance went on.

Some guests and staff were even more entertained when they were approached by the lions which seemed to ask for a gentle gesture of love and comfort, especially children who wanted to pet them.

At the end of the performance, the lion dance troupe presented a tray of well-carved fruits symbolising

blessings and positive spirit.

Guests and the staff took plenty of snapshots of the performance and even posed with the lions.

The highlight of the event was an acrobatic show where the two lions balanced on a pole while reaching for a lettuce and a red ang pow packet suspended in mid-air.
