WHEN asked how he keeps his skin in good condition, South Korean superstar Seungri attributes it to Dr Gloderm products, and the “nourishment” that comes from the support of his fans.
His response was met with squeals of excitement from the sea of fans who had come to witness the launch of the medical cosmeceutical brand, Dr Gloderm, at 1 Utama shopping centre in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.
The artiste and entrepreneur, who is one fifth of the popular South Korean band Big Bang, is an investor of the brand and holds 10% share in the cosmetic company.
He took the mall by storm with his appearance, and even performed one of the band’s popular songs, Bang Bang Bang, on stage.
Seungri officially launched the products with Dr Gloderm founder Dr Park Chul-Hoong and Dr Gloderm Malaysia director Vanessa Cheah.
Dr Gloderm products are formulated and made in South Korea with the philosophy that “better prescription leads to better beauty”.
It offers skincare products that are said to have pharmaceutical effects on aged and troubled skin.
Developed by 54 top dermatologists from Seoul National University’s College of Medicine, the products are said to be based on studies of some five million prescriptions and clinical experiences.
Cheah said the decision to introduce the brand to Malaysian shores was inspired by the popularity of Korean beauty products.
“It started between two friends; we decided to bring the brand in when we saw the uniqueness of Dr Gloderm on Instagram.
“We were attracted to the packaging and moisturiser that comes in the form of innovative cream beads,” she said.
Currently, there are 15 Dr Gloderm products available in Malaysia exclusively through selected Watsons stores, including the TABRX creams, TABRX Masks, Time to Mask and the Inhansive Hand Cream.
“The star products are the TABRX creams and the TABRX two-step face mask.
“On top of the existing products, we are looking into offering an even wider range to cater to all skin types,” added Cheah.
