2,400 cops to be on duty during GE14 in Terengganu

HULU TERENGGANU: About 2,400 policemen will be deployed to safeguard the entire process of the 14th general election (GE14) throughout Terengganu.

State police chief Datuk Aidi Ismail said all personnel would be stationed at the polling centres and security posts statewide.

“The police will be there to maintain law and order,” he said after a GE14 simulation training session at the Water Front Square in Kuala Berang here.

Meanwhile, Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Jailani Johari, who witnessed the event, said political parties should abide by the regulations set during the campaign period.

“During polling day, all parties should refer to the authorities to avoid chaos throughout the election process,” he said. — Bernama
