SENIOR citizens of Rumah Orang Tua Seri Setia in Petaling Jaya enjoyed an early Chinese New Year celebration, thanks to eCurve which hosted an outing for them at its shopping mall in Mutiara Damansara.

The old folk along with their caretakers were ushered by eCurve’s management team to the Centre Atrium of the mall, which was filled with modish and popular street decor that evoked the feeling of nostalgia among shoppers.

Colourful flower-like lanterns hanging from the ceilings created a delightful festive setting.

“In an effort to spread good fortune and in the spirit of giving back to society, we are proud to host our guests from Rumah Orang Tua Seri Setia,” said eCurve centre manager Azizul Hisham Ahmad.

He said that it had become a tradition to fulfil for eCurve to create memorable experience for the underprivileged.

“This year, we have also gone the extra mile and transformed our Centre Atrium into traditional street houses to ensure our loyal patrons are able to enjoy the truly authentic experience reminiscent of the streets of Hong Kong during this festive season here in eCurve,” he said.

Azizul also extended his gratitude to their sponsors – Pak John Steamboat & BBQ for their contribution and generosity.

The event featured a range of awe-inspiring performances including graceful flag dancers, a funky Straw-Hat hip-hop trio, acrobatic talents of a gymnast and wushu practitioners wielding swords and spears.

There were also comedy intervals that left the audience in stitches.

Hopping and swaying from pole to pole, the highlight of the event was the energetic and acrobatic lion dance troupe who impressed the crowd with their stunts.

Chinese New Year goodie bags and ang pow were distributed to the old folks and caretakers, as well as a large hamper as a token of appreciation to the representative of the old folk’s home.

Until Feb 18, patrons can enjoy various activities lined up in cluding street performances in conjunction with eCurve’s CNY campaign.

Patrons who spend a minimum of RM150 and above in two receipts on the same day will get the chance to redeem lucky ang pow packets and exclusive bountiful abundance bowls and chopsticks set.
