Hot meals for tireless volunteers

Malaysia Hindu Sangam Bukit Bendera Council members handing out meals from their van to refreshment stall operators and volunteers in Jalan Utama, Penang.

EVERY Thaipusam, devotees and volunteers will give anathanam (distribution of free food).

While most would distribute food at the thaneer panthals (refreshment stalls) during the three-day festival, the Malaysia Hindu Sangam Bukit Bendera Council has been giving fried bee hoon, bread, hot coffee and mineral water a day before the eve as part of its Annam On Wheels initiative.
