Festive lanterns to light up roads


Lanterns hung along Jalan Pasar ahead of the 2018 Chinese New Year celebration on Feb 2. A giant arch will also be erected at the road’s entrance.

 TWO busy roads in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, will be closed for the annual 2018 Chinese New Year celebration on Feb 2.

Jalan Pasar and Jalan Tokong will be closed from 11am to 11pm for the event which includes a lighting up ceremony involving 4,500 lanterns hung along the roads.
