Big Band heads to Bangkok for jazz conference


Penang Jazz Society has been invited to perform at Thailand’s International Jazz Festival.

THE Penang Jazz Society will be sending its flagship 20-member ensemble, the Big Band of Penang (BBoP), to represent the state at the Thailand International Jazz Conference 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand, on Jan 28.

Music director Jerome Quah said this will be Penang’s very first jazz society to be invited by Mahidol University to perform at Thailand’s International Jazz Festival at the university campus.
