Vagrants turn abutment and area below BORR into their dwelling place

SINCE more than a year ago, homeless Sukarno Hamid, 56, has been taking shelter under the Butterworth Outer Ring Road (BORR) in front of the Sultan Abdul Halim ferry terminal.

His ‘bedroom” is the bridge abutment. Since there’s no electricity or water supply, washing and bathing are done at a nearby public toilet.
