THE unique sound of an oboe can hold an audience in a trance and oboist Aylssa Yam knows the power of her instrument.

She enchanted a packed auditorium in Komtar, Penang, during her Winner’s Recital, having just bagged the coveted Wind Music Prize 2017 of the Malaysian Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
