KUCHING: Contractors appointed for jobs by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) must now sign an integrity pledge and statutory declaration not to subcontract the work to others, except for specialist jobs which will need the council’s approval.
MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang said the new requirement was aimed at preventing “Ali Baba” contractors from participating in council projects and to ensure good delivery of services by the appointed contractors.
