’White Xmas’ at i-City

THIS festive season, why not visit our very own world-class attraction – the i-City in Shah Alam.

The leisure park promises visitors a spectacular display of LED lights covering numerous structures.

StarMetro paid a visit recently and was impressed by some of the newer attractions.

Step into the park and take a moment to admire the showcase of dazzling lights shaped into a snowman, Christmas baubles and giant gift boxes.

At the entrance of Red Carpet 2, a two-storey cone-shaped tree with an audio-visual display of Christmas tunes, welcomes visitors.

There is also a five-storey bell flanked by two angels. The entire structure is mostly lit in white LED lights, giving visitors a taste of a “white Christmas”.

There are also small benches inside the gigantic bell for visitors to sit while taking in the glittering sight. Needless to say, it provides an ideal photo opportunity for both young and old.

Take a stroll along the Harry Potter section and you will soon come across the Rose Garden that boasts hundreds of plastic roses, each with its own white LED light.

The garden offers a breathtaking view of the Shah Alam city skyline, especially during sunset. It is also an ideal spot for visitors to capture special moments on camera.

Bright lights aside, i-City is also home to the country’s first wax display of well-known personalities.

Visitors at the Red Carpet 2 can rub shoulders with wax versions of US president Donald Trump, the late Princess Diana and even billionaire business magnate Jack Ma.

Thanks to technology, the figurines are made to look just like the personalities.

I-Berhad group information manager Tang Soke Cheng said besides the Christmas decorations, visitors could usher in the New Year during the park’s countdown which will feature a display of fireworks.

“Starting Dec 30, the ‘Amazing 2017 Final Crazy Deal’ will give visitors who spend RM100 and an additional RM50 to spend on rides.

“Don’t miss out on this deal as it is a great time to enjoy our new attractions,” added Tang.

i-City was given recognition by CNN Travel as one of the top 25 most bright and colourful places in June. It was also listed in the same line-up as Times Square in New York and Shibuya, Tokyo by the international news provider.
