Medan Pasar redesignated as just a bus stop

BEGINNING Saturday Dec 23, the Medan Pasar City End Stop will be re-designated to become a bus stop instead of an end stop, according to the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).

With this change in designation for Medan Pasar, buses stopping here would no longer be allowed to wait or park. They can only pick up or drop off passengers.

SPAD said the move was to allow for better traffic flow in the area near HSBC, which is well known for congestion problems during peak hours. This situation is often aggravated by waiting buses.

According to SPAD, the relocation of the end stop to Lebuh Pudu HAB meant commuters would get better facilities and shelter.

The relocation exercise will affect 50 buses operated by Selangor Omnibus Co Bhd and Setara Jaya Sdn Bhd.

The affected Selangor Omnibus route numbers are 100, 103, 104, 107, 120, 121 and 120, while for Setara Jaya, the route numbers are 151 and 152.
