THE flooding in Taman Sin Tat, Butterworth, was due to it being a low-lying area, Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP) insisted despite unhappy residents blaming poor drainage.
MPSP said in a statement on Monday that this residential estate of mostly terrace homes, about 3km from the North Butterworth Container Terminal, was a mature area with a lower sea-level height than its surrounding areas.
