IN CELEBRATION of this jolly season, BBKLCC has been transformed into a festive hub across nine of its mall members in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

The country’s main shopping district is bringing to life the magic of Christmas with beautifully adorned Christmas trees, sparkling lights and glittering baubles.

“Malaysian shoppers deserve a good Christmas and we wish to highlight the offerings of each BBKLCC mall member and their input.

“We want to show that the Bukit Bintang area can compete in both decoration and design on a global scale, and shout out to locals and tourists about our special offerings during this festive period,” said BBKLCC Tourism Association chairman Joseph Yeoh during a media tour.

The tour started from Avenue K, where one can experience The Glittering Christmas Escapade featuring an iconic English Park, adorned with a musical Christmas Tree along with London’s iconic Big Ben and London Bridge.

Suria KLCC’s Centre Court offers a Christmas forest in the North Pole where Santa’s Enchanted Village displays a double-storey cottage connected to a tree house and an impressively decorated 9.1m-pine tree next to it.

Berjaya Times Square has an Enthralling Christmas theme, where one can pose for photographs with Santa and his crew on the Supersonic Odyssey sleigh.

LED light decorations and sculptures are the main attractions at Plaza Low Yat and an attention-grabbing 8.5m elegant and shimmering Christmas tree stands at the main entrance of Sungei Wang, with added tech details in its decoration seen in the Avant-Garde AR Corner where shoppers can download and pose with a 3D reindeer.

Still looking for a gift? Check out the Christmas Pop-up Store with special promotions at Lot 10’s concourse. You can also send Christmas wishes on a free snail-mail postcard on the spot with minimum purchase of RM50.

The theme “Beauty Merry Land” says it all at Fahrenheit88 – the opening of Play Up Advance store is on Dec 16.

Starhill Gallery has glittering stars hanging from above, and resplendent Christmas trees decked out in sparkling fairy lights and baubles.

Experience “Christmas is in the Air” at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur as hot air balloons show off with Santa sprinkling love, joy and goodwill.

In addition to creative and unique decorations, mall members are also highlighting charitable causes to spread festive cheer to the underprivileged community.

These include Lot 10’s collaboration with Honestbee and Charwiki to provide basic necessities to Kirtash Home, Sungei Wang’s Wishing Corner to help children from Promise Home and Shelter Home, as well as Suria KLCC’s We Care Journey in support of children with Spinal Muscular Atrophy disease.

“We wish to expand the network of BBKLCC by being a body that represent retailers and mall owners alike in the Bukit Bintang area and will endeavour to attract high footfall and increase tourist spend through creative programmes while constantly having new programmes to satisfy local consumer habits.

“We will continue to work closely with tourism Malaysia and the shopping secretariat Malaysia to push new activities and shopping tourism as a major highlight of Malaysia’s economic transformation plan,” concluded Yeoh.
