SIBU: A Lake Development Authority will be set up to kick-start economic development in the Upper Rajang area with tourism activity as its main agenda.

Chief Minister Datuk Amar Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg, speaking at the delegate conference of PBB Zone 8 on Sunday, said the Upper Rajang area, with its rich flora and fauna and several hydro-electric dams surrounding it, could generate income for the state as it is a tourist attraction.
