Johor wants harsher punishment for drug peddlers


THE Johor government has asked the Home Ministry to amend the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985 to enable greater punishment of small-time drug traffickers.

State Health, Environment, Education, and Information Committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat said at the moment, those charged receive a relatively light sentence.
