Executive Set Lunch promises relaxing break in the city

FEW eateries in George Town offer a classy and tranquil ambience like The Spice at Royale Chulan Penang.

Corporate folk wanting to meet clients over a meal or those wishing to get away from raucous crowds will appreciate its Executive Set Lunch.

Served from noon to 2.30pm on Monday to Saturday, it is priced at just RM42 and comes with an appetiser, soup of the day, main course and dessert.

The menu changes daily, and depending on the day, diners may find either a Mixed Bean Salad, Chef’s Salad, Chowrasta Salad, Mediterranean Salad, Panzanella or Weld Quay Tuna as starters.

Each day offers a choice between two mains, which can be poultry items such as Breaded Chicken Fillet Scaloppine or Chicken Fajitas in Tortilla Wrap.

Seafood possibilities are Pan-Fried Salmon with Ginger Lemon Butter Aioli, Pan-Seared Fish Fillet on Marina and Basil Sauce, Crusted Salmon Fillet with Chantilly Sauce and Seabass Provencale with Bearnaise.

Other days might offer red meat options such as Grilled Lamb Chop al Forno, Steak Sandwich, Beef Bourguignon and Grilled Lamb Casserole, or pastas in the form of Linguine Pesto or Spaghetti Carbonara.

Dessert can be any one from Coconut Pannacotta, Orange Creme Brulee, Fruit Trifle, Chocolate Mousse, Royal Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream or Peach Melba.

The Executive Set Lunch also comes with a complimentary Royale Passion mocktail.

Otherwise, try the five-course Fusion Dinner set served from 7pm to 10.30pm on Saturday to Thursday, priced at RM120 per person.

It features a fusion menu that opens with an amuse bouche of Goat’s Cheese and Apple Soup, followed by starters of Creamy Wild Mushroom Tartlet and Roasted Garlic Chowder.

A mango sorbet cleanses the palate before your preferred main dish. Choices are Pan-Fried Fillet of Salmon, Crusted Lamb Cutlet or Grilled Spring Chicken.

Strawberry Bavarois provides a sweet ending.

Opening hours for The Spice on Level 2 beside the pool are noon to 2.30pm, and 7pm to 10.30pm daily.
