TOMORROW is for the shopaholics to rejoice!

Lazada Malaysia is bringing the Online Revolution back for its sixth year with a slew of attractive deals from tomorrow until Dec 14.

Touted to be the online retailer’s biggest shopping event of the year in Southeast Asia, this year will feature 90million products with savings of up to 90%.

Lazada Malaysia chief executive officer Hans-Peter Ressel said shoppers can expect exciting brand flash sales, RM1 deals and participating brands offering Mystery Boxes for them to enjoy further markdowns.

“Lazada Malaysia introduced new sections in this year within the Lazada website to offer Malaysians an even wider range of assortments  with attractive prices.

“These sections include Digital Goods including Lazada e-vouchers, Petronas Gift cards and travel packages; Official Stores with over 1,000 brands such as Senheng, Clarks and Estee Lauder; as well as Taobao that features curated and products from top Taobao China sellers,” said Ressel.

Themed “Shop The Universe”, the monthly-long online shopping event will be joined by various marketing partners including Digi, Petronas, CIMB, Maybank and Petronas to provide exclusive deals.

Additionally, a total of RM60mil worth of giveaways are up for grabs, including Club Med holiday packages, Perodua Bezza 1.0, a chance to experience Zero-G, Go Pros and iPhone Xs.

“Last year’s  event saw more than 500,000 items ordered with  three million visits onto the platform in just the first day of the event.

“As we are growing more than triple digit percentage points every year, we expect a massive growth this year as well,” said Ressel, adding that expected best seller items would be from categories such as the health and beauty, kids and beauty as well as groceries.

“It is our nature to expand and evolve alongside our customers’ needs and that is why we have tripled the offerings from last year.

“By putting the ‘Universe’ at the fingertips of our customers, we are addressing every aspect of online shopping that is important to customers including affordability, assortment and convenience,” added Ressel.

Lazada started out with 30,000 products in 2012 and increased to five million in 2015. This year, it offers 90 million products across cosmetics, apparel and fashion accessories, electronic gadgets and appliances, household essentials and even pet food.

“More people are placing greater trust when purchasing online.

“This shows that the adoption of e-commerce is accelerating and the online environment is flourishing in the Malaysian market.

“With the Lazada application already downloaded by a third of the country’s population, we are expecting one out of five Malaysians to be on our platform for 11.11.

“This is a strong testament to our expertise and knowing well ahead what our customers demand, which is an even wider selection of assortments at any given time.

On top of offering great savings for customers, the event creates a platform for retailers to explore e-commerce, especially supporting the growth for SMEs.

Lazada Group assists more than 100,000 local and international retailers as well as 2,500 brands, serving 560million customers in the region across six countries through its marketplace platform.
