Upgrading Ipoh’s tourism appeal

THE STATE government is gearing up efforts to promote Ipoh as a world-class tourism destination on par with bigger cities, such as Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hong Kong and even New York, in the coming year.

State Tourism Committee Chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohd Radzi said, in branding “Ipoh City” as a new tourism product, focus wo;; be placed on promoting attractions such as the Ipoh Heritage Trail, People’s Park, Dataran Dato Sagor, Tourism Riverside, Gunung Lang Recreational Park, D.R. Seenivasagam Park, Gerbang Malam, and Ipoh Memory Lane (better known as Pasar Karat) and the Lam Looking Bazaar.
