MELAKA: The state government is hoping Budget 2018, which will be tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today, will include plans to improve solid waste management and disposal in Melaka.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said there was an urgent need for a systematic solid waste management system in Melaka as the state produced approximately 1,200 tonnes of solid waste daily and no longer had vacant land to be used as landfills.
