One company repurposes public payphones in the era of mobile phones

THEY were once a necessity that enabled the masses to communicate with one another or to call in emergencies.

Now, however, public phones have been relegated to almost a relic as they seem to belong to a bygone era when handphones were a luxury item and today, almost every Malaysian – teenagers included – own a mobile phone.
