Foundation’s new head aims to do more for disabled


The physiotherapy room is one of the many facilities at the Sultan Azlan Shah Rehabilitation Centre in Bercham.

APPOINTED as Yayasan Sultan Idris Shah (YSIS) chief executive officer about three months ago, former orthopaedic surgeon Datuk Dr R. Ramanathan has big plans for the non-profit organisation.

The former Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital Orthopaedic Department head said he plans to extend YSIS’ services beyond providing therapy to people and children with physical disabilities, with the goal being to introduce other services that can improve their lives.
