Putrajaya community carnival a success

The dragon boat race was one of the most-anticipated events at the Putrajaya Community Carnival and Water Fest.

THE 11th Putrajaya Community Carnival saw residents putting in the effort to organise the event with the support of Putrajaya Corporation (Ppj).

The two-day event was held together with the Putrajaya Water Fest and Food Truck Carnival at the Putrajaya Water Sports Complex.

Putrajaya Umno deputy head Datuk Khairudin E.S. Abd Samad launched the carnival on behalf of Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Reading Tengku Adnan’s speech, Khairuddin said he was proud to see a growing number of entrepreneurs in Putrajaya.

“This shows that the Government’s initiative in encouraging entrepreneurship so people could earn extra income is gaining support,” he said.

Among the activities held during the weekend were drawing and colouring contests, inter-school traditional dance competition as well as singing, cooking and floral arrangement competitions.

The water fest also saw people taking part in a dragon boat race and a water rescue course by PPj.
