Weeds and silt in drains contribute to flash floods

Residents say the neighbourhood experiences flash floods when clogged drains in Jalan Zapin 3C and 3D overflow during heavy rain in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang.

CLOGGED drains filled with weeds and silt surrounding the residential area in Bandar Bukit Raja, north Klang, have been blamed for the recurring flash floods in the neighbourhood.

PPZ 3 Residents’ Association chairman Koh Jui Lian said the unkempt condition of the surroundings with overgrown lalang and weeds that fill the drain had hampered the flow of water when it rained.
