SIBU: Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI), on behalf of Bank Negara, is gathering complaints from small- and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners who are unable to get loans from financial institutions.

SCCCI president Dr Hii Sui Cheng said the central bank’s development finance and enterprise department was gathering complaints on securing loans among the business community.

“We invite businessmen who are encountering problems with business loan applications from banks to provide us with information,” he said in a statement.

Complaints can be filed by submitting a form stating, among other things, the name of banks which rejected their loan applications.

“This is an opportunity for people who face problems getting business loans to have their grievances heard,” he said.

The closing date for filing complaints is Sept 30.
