City councillor: 4,808 tonnes of garbage collected in nine months

Ipoh City Council staff working in groups to collect rubbish littering the Sultan Abdul Aziz recreational park (Polo Ground).

THE whopping amount of trash collected by the Ipoh City Council since the start of the year until Sept 15, if they were food, may well be able to feed at least half of Ipoh city.

City councillor Hairul Anwar Mohamed Noor said council workers had collected 4,808 tonnes of trash, mostly from illegal dumpsites, which was a shocking amount within the period of nine months.
