AMBANK Group has launched the AmBank BizRACE as part of its continuous effort to provide additional support for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The initiative is also aimed at providing SMEs with access to valuable knowledge sharing sessions and development training that covers the area of leadership development, improvement in business model as well as system, structure and culture transformation.
Outlining the programme, AmBank’s Business Banking division managing director Christopher Yap said through the programme, the SMEs would have an opportunity to greater market accessibility from a branding perspective.
“We understand that the SMEs need access to knowledge, skills and opportunities to move to the next cycles of their business,” he said when launching the AmBank BizRACE and BizConference at G Hotel Kelawei in Penang on Tuesday.
“Malaysian SMEs contribution to the GDP stands lower than average, and 80% of them do not get past the three-year mark, which calls for urgent improvement.”
This programme, said Yap, would focus on start-ups where the SMEs would be given the tools to succeed at the early stages of their businesses and provide them with a platform to grow.
The Top 100 applicants of the programme will be selected based on their plans for scalability and growth.
Participants who make it to the Top 15 will be given complimentary development training packages for their SME worth up to RM350,000 and coaching opportunities with experienced entrepreneurs to help them identify what is needed to scale their business.
Finally, the Top 5 participants will get an exclusive chance to network with an internationally renowned entrepreneur while those in the Top 3 will win media packages worth RM595,000 for their company.
