MIRI: Deckworks Events & Entertainment and LOL Events will present a show by well-known stand-up comedian ‘Kumar’ on Saturday at ParkCity Everly Hotel here.

Kumar, from Singapore, will hit the Malaysia roads on a nationwide tour called “Kumarsutra”.

In the past two decades, Kumar has proven to be a multi-talented performer, entertaining millions as a comedian, TV host, actor, dancer, director and author.

Sarawak Assistant Tourism, Youth and Culture Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin said more than 500 tickets had been sold. Half of those who purchased the ticket were from outside Sarawak.

“They come all the way to Miri to watch this show.

The majority is from Brunei. So we can see that this event is able to attract people from outside Sarawak to come here.

“This is a tourism event and that is why I am here.

So I hope our events and entertainment organisers will advertise their events online so that more people from outside Sarawak will attend this show, he said at a press conference here.

According to Lee, Miri City Council has already endorsed the event.

“We (MCC) will give full support to this event, he said.

Kumarsutra is a show that culminates all of Kumar’s talents, integrating the elements that have made him famous. It tours seven cities in Malaysia namely Ipoh, Penang, Melaka, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Miri and Johor Baru from September to October.

Tickets for the show are available at Ticketpro Malaysia with ticket prices ranging from RM 150 (Gold) to RM 250 (VIP). Tickets also can be bought from the official venue ParkCity Everly Hotel. — By ANSOVINA CHAI
