Minister: Homeless at camps being taught to be self-reliant

A total of 1,300 disabled people and their families took part in the fun run held in conjunction with the National Welfare Month in Putrajaya on Sept 16.

THE Federal Territory Ministry aims to see at least 30% of the homeless who are currently at camps on self-sustenance, to lead independent lives after this.

Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said more than 1,000 homeless people from Kuala Lumpur were recruited to join the camps in several locations in the Klang Valley to help them off the streets.
