Sarawak Forestry yet to issue licence for crocodile culling and export


Villagers are allowed to kill a crocodile only if it poses a threat.

KUCHING: The Sarawak Forestry Department has yet to issue licences to cull and export crocodiles in the state, though it has received 50 applications to-date.

Its deputy director Jack Liam said the applications must meet the strict criteria of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (Cites) before it could be approved.
