Jay Jay to perform at Malaysia Day do

Jay Jay will sing at the Town Square.

SIBU: Veteran singer well-known for the Rindu Bayangan song, Jay Jay, will be among popular local artistes who will make a special appearance at the state Malaysia Day celebration tonight.

He will be joined by other singers such as Ricky Andrewson, Iwan Dasri, Mal Imran, Nurul Shida, Kaderi Awang Lihi and Dayangku Fadzillah.

Other artistes expected to perform at the event, which is scheduled to start at 7.30pm at the Town Square tonight, are popular Chinese singers Chiew Mei Mei and Ling Sing Kiong.

The performers, who will be accompanied by D’Cipta Band, are expected to belt out both oldies and contemporary songs.

Sibu plays host to this year’s state Malaysia Day event which will be launched by Sarawak Governor Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Toh Puan Raghad Kurdi Taib.

Also present will be Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Datin Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, besides other state leaders and dignitaries.

The evening’s event will see a mixture of patriotic and entertaining performances coordinated by the Tourism, Arts and Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry.
