Mundipharma Pharmaceuticals Sdn Bhd sees the local pharmaceutical industry growing and intends to expand its range of products here.
Its country manager, Hans Kim, said the healthcare sector has one of the biggest multipliers in the economy in Malaysia.
“We will be expanding our partnerships with key stakeholders by providing information to healthcare professionals (HCPs) about the medicines that we discover and commercialise. It is our duty to inform HCPs about the patient population where medications will work, and where the medications will not work,” he tells Metrobiz.
The multinational pharmaceutical company, which has been in Malaysia for a decade, experienced 40% growth in 2013 and 2014.
“This is remarkable growth compared to the industry standard that is below 6%. Our growth is supported by the market introduction of new products,” he said.
They will continue to co-organise forums and invite qualified foreign experts to speak on the latest innovations and practices to South-East Asian HCPs in the fields of oncology and palliative care.
“We also develop partnerships with a range of pharmaceutical and biotech companies, which led to entering the medical devices market with wound care products.
“We hope that by constantly innovating new products we are able to deliver the effective treatments to patients,” he said.
The company is also looking at recruiting new talents to support the growth.
Kim concluded that they are currently developing existing staff to be well-rounded individuals by giving them ownership of various roles and responsibilities within the company.
