The eponym of Taman Connaught in Cheras may have been a province in Ireland, a kingdom that collapsed in the 1230s, or Queen Victoria’s grandson, Prince Arthur of Connaught.
Then, the name was adopted for a thoroughfare in Hong Kong and later, a humble housing estate said to have been developed by a Hong Kong firm.
