Sleepy village near Gurun one of the best spots to catch Spanish mackerel

YAN, a small fishing town near Gurun in Kedah, is perhaps one of the best places to fish for tenggiri or Spanish mackerel in the country.

Although the peak period to fish this species here is between early February and June, Yan’s coast continues to offer anglers the same opportunities all year round but on a smaller scale.
