Big dreams to set up her own practice

SUBANG Jaya lass Kiran Jassal, the youngest in a family of four, is currently studying dentistry, a field that she is passionate about.

A straight-A student throughout her schooling days, she aspires to start up her own orthodontic practice someday.

In joining The Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2016, Jassal aims to better understand herself and what she’s capable of – and she has set her sights on winning.

Her pastimes include reading and dancing, and she has also recently discovered a passion for taking part in obstacle courses such as Viper Challenge and BloodRunner.

“I also enjoy travelling because it allows me to get a glimpse of the different cultures and mindsets of people in different countries; it’s like I get to form a spectrum of the world in my head,” she added.

Jassal said one of her most memorable experiences in life was attending a boarding school as she was growing up.

“It taught me to be more independent and to learn to compromise. It was an environment that encouraged mature relationships among students and teachers to grow,” she said.

When she was younger, she also took part in many public speaking competitions such as debating, storytelling, choral speaking, jazz chanting and poem recitation to overcome her stage fright.
