Yummly app

THIS week, we feature three more Android apps for foodies and people who love cooking.

Food Network in the Kitchen lets you access your favourite Food Network chefs and thousands of their most popular recipes; Yummly is great for recipe searches, bookmarking the recipe sites you love and creating your digital recipe box while Handpick lets you explore food ideas from Instagram, bloggers, and food lovers everywhere.

Food Network in the Kitchen

Food Network in the Kitchen app

You can watch a Food Network show and look the recipe up almost immediately. Adding nutritional values would be helpful but the recipes are easy to follow and understand. The descriptions are good and there are also great recipes with pictures. The kitchen timer, conversion table, recipe box and a shopping list work together well.

The app’s unique search filters allow you to find the perfect recipes by cuisine, taste, diet (vegetarian, vegan, Paleo), nutrition, allergies (dairy, gluten, seafood, and more), cook time, technique, and more. Many users find it really easy to use and it is great for planning meals for the week ahead. Another plus point is the big, detailed pictures of the food.

Handpick app

This app lets you explore food ideas from Instagram, bloggers, and food lovers everywhere. Handpick has a huge searchable database source of food posts, with up to 10 million socially shared food posts from 1.6 million content creators worldwide. I find the app easy to use with a lot of useful content.
