Snapshots of the good old days

Johore Heng photo studio owner Liew Ah Lek showing the picture of Johor third ruler Almarhum Sultan Ismail Ibni Almarhum Sultan Ibrahims coronation ceremony held some 55 years ago at the shop located along Jalan Ibrahim here in Johor Baru on Jan 7.

A SMALL old shop located along the busy Jalan Ibrahim here can be regarded as a “window to the past” as there are many old photographs depicting the state, including the last coronation ceremony of the Johor Ruler.

Johore Heng photo studio owner Liew Ah Lek, 69, said that his late father Liew Wee Peng, who used to work as a journalist with a Chinese daily in the 1950s, took almost all of the 75 pictures on display at the shop.
