Star People's Food Award: Voting starts Sunday for best curry laksa stall

Front runner: Special Recipe Restaurant in Wisma Goldhill, Kuala Lumpur, has so far received the most endorsements for the Best Curry Laksa category.

ON Sunday, you can start voting for your favourite curry laksa stall/restaurant under The Star People’s Food Awards via Metro Online Broadcast (MOB) at mob.com.my.

From March 1 to 10, our readers sent in their nominations for the best curry laksa eatery in Klang Valley. Those who did, stand a chance to win attractive prizes such as hotel stays and dining vouchers.

As such, we have 22 places that stand a chance to bag the Best Curry Laksa award.

Top of the list with 44 endorsements is Special Recipe Restaurant in Wisma Goldhill, Kuala Lumpur. Sisters Curry Laksa in Sun Fatt Kee Coffeeshop located in Seapark, Petaling Jaya, comes in second with 24 endorsements.

The people’s favourites for curry laksa include Teochew Chendul in Sunway Pyramid; Chong Hwa Curry Laksa in Jalan Genting Klang; Simple Life Healthy Vegetarian Restaurant in Paradigm Mall; Restoran Kar Heong Ipoh Chicken Rice and Hor Fun in SS4, Petaling Jaya; Little Cravings in 1Utama Shopping Centre, Ehsan Wong Kok Restaurant in Taman Ehsan; Restoran Sun Hing Loong in SS2; Bliss 33 in Subang Jaya; Lum Kee in Section 14, Petaling Jaya; Kedai Kopi 09 in Raja Bot Wet Market, Kuala Lumpur, a stall in SS15 wet market in Subang Jaya, Foushou Lou Nyonya Seafood Curry stall in Section 14, Petaling Jaya; Kedai Makanan Ah Loy in Taman Overseas Union; Restoran MC Curry Noodles in Shah Alam; the stall in Jalan Ikan Mas wet market, Cheras; Restoran Hong Joo in PJ Old Town; Alex’s Curry Mee at Ho Ho Sek Food Court, Petaling Jaya; Limapulo in Jalan Doraisamy, KL; Restoran Peranakan Place in Nu Sentral and Mee Jawa in Solaris Dutamas.

Those who nominate, vote or successfully share a link are automatically entered into a race to win prizes.

Nominations are open for the first 10 days of the month, followed by voting from March 15 to 31.

The Star People’s Food Awards is a monthly contest that recognises the best street food in the Klang Valley.

Every month until May 2015, the public can vote for the best category-based street food such as curry laksa (March) or rojak buah (April) via MOB.
